Double Sails!!

Took a charter offshore today, to make a long story short the bite was slooooow we almost called it, pulled one last trick out my sleeve and was rewarded with a double sailfish hook up. These two sails had us working they tried to wrap up us a number of times.

Dania Lobster Dive!

Headed out around 1030 am with Jimmy and Rob to get some video with the new gopro dive housing. I took the guys to a spot I had located last year that looked promising. We were greeted with great weather and flat seas. The visibility was mediocre but we still managed to capture some nice video! We saw an abundance of various reef fish and lobster. It was lobster dinner for everyone! Enjoy the video!

Tarpon Time

The wind was projected to be pretty strong today offshore and that it was! Rob, Joe and I had hoped to go offshore this morning but the weather just wouldn't allow it, so a last minute decision this morning led Rob and I down to Miami for some tarpon fun. We fished hard for several hours before we worked up some action! Rob got a monster (what we think) was around 80-100lbs? I was also lucky to land a nice 30-40 pounder! Enjoy the video from today!

Cobia Action!

44" Cobia!

Headed out early from Dania beach around 5:45 am with Rob, Chris and Hugo. We got out to the 200's and started exploring. The current was pretty slow early in the morning but picked up to around 2 knots by late morning. We were all catching bonito and Rob snagged a nice fat king. I think it was around 47 inches! Chris got a couple nice tuna out of the deal. One was pretty fat. Hugo was wrestling bonitos with me until we were about to head in. We had the bonito curse! The current was really pushing, so Hugo started his paddle in.

Wahoo!!! Dania to Pompano Drift

Today we were greeted with great conditions, calm surf and seas. Rob, Larry and I started our paddle out nice and early around 5:15 am. The plan today was to do a drift from Dania Beach to Pompano beach and go deep. As we trolled on the way out we noticed several slicks and weed lines at various depths. We made our first stop around 300 feet and started to drop the jigs in search of big tuna. No hookups so we headed deeper and came across our next weed line which was holding lots of bait and a few nice schools of Mahi. We didn't have live bait so the jigs were dropped.

Tag Along Trip at Daina Beach

Headed out this morning from Dania around 630am into a decent swell and northeast wind with friends Larry (Lobster Larry on Florida Sportsman forum) and Mikey who had never kayak fished. We slowly made our way out fighting the wind and swell and came across small groups of weeds from 50-90 feet. On the paddle out it looked really fishy on the fish-finder so I was getting pretty amped up as we headed for deeper water. We decided to take a break around 180 feet and sent the jigs down. Each of us was using different weights and colors. On Larry's 4 or 5 drop he snagged a smoker king!
