Sailfish time!

Had two clients out today and we got lucky with the weather. After days of blowing wind and watching the weather, we caught it on a nice calm day. We had a double sail hookup and landed both! To top it off we had a nice kingfish bite! After a few cutoffs and a few landed we called it quits and cruised in. Great day on the water!

Windy offshore so we headed inshore for tarpon and snook

We met at the beach at 6 am and it was nasty. Weatherman was wrong. Winds blowing and the waves were pounding. We decided to head inshore for "Plan B". So off to an inshore spot in Miami and sure enough it paid off. Nick got a nice 40" snook that was a fatty and I hooked up but the hook pulled on what I think was a tarpon. Great way to save a day.

Tarpon Time

The wind was projected to be pretty strong today offshore and that it was! Rob, Joe and I had hoped to go offshore this morning but the weather just wouldn't allow it, so a last minute decision this morning led Rob and I down to Miami for some tarpon fun. We fished hard for several hours before we worked up some action! Rob got a monster (what we think) was around 80-100lbs? I was also lucky to land a nice 30-40 pounder! Enjoy the video from today!

Tag Along Trip at Daina Beach

Headed out this morning from Dania around 630am into a decent swell and northeast wind with friends Larry (Lobster Larry on Florida Sportsman forum) and Mikey who had never kayak fished. We slowly made our way out fighting the wind and swell and came across small groups of weeds from 50-90 feet. On the paddle out it looked really fishy on the fish-finder so I was getting pretty amped up as we headed for deeper water. We decided to take a break around 180 feet and sent the jigs down. Each of us was using different weights and colors. On Larry's 4 or 5 drop he snagged a smoker king!
